LOGO DESIGN
1780 AT THE EPSOM DERBY
I worked with Chris, Jon, and the team at The Jockey Club to develop the brand identity for 1780, a new hospitality marquee positioned right on the winning line at Epsom. Named after the year The Derby was founded, the 1780 marquee embodies British heritage, tradition, and a sense of royal occasion, rich in opulence, yet still accessible. Think the understated luxury of Aston Martin or Harrods.
The resulting logo is elegant, refined, and intentionally simple. It was designed to appeal to a wide audience, from ages 5 to 60, and to suit both the corporate and social guests who make up the marquee’s diverse clientele, including those from the building and recruitment industries.
